One of the things he is concerned about, is that we did go to our family doctor and the ER will tell us to just wait for the other appointments, which I keep telling him they won't do. If something is wrong, then they will see him for it, no matter what other appointments we already have made. So he finally agreed to go yesterday, but then, of course I got a migraine. So he said I should just take the migraine medicine, which makes me very sleepy, and he promised to go today.
Well I have woken up this morning feeling just fine, so I asked him, are we still going to go to the ER as planned? He said, yes thank God! He just wants to wait till after they do their shift change, which makes sense. The ER always seems to get all their bed placements for the admitted patients after shift change, which then opens up a lot of beds for the new patients that are coming into the ER in the morning. I mean they do place patients during the night also, they just seem to get their biggest amount of regular bed placements in the morning.
Believe me, I have been in that situation with both myself, when I was admitted last August, and I was waiting on an ICU bed. My husband told me I didn't actually get upstairs till around 9:00 am, after being in the ER most of the night, I don't actually remember when I went. I have also waited with Jennifer for a bed upstairs usually till very early in the morning, around four am or after shift change.
So more information to follow. We shall hope for the best.
